and to the 1st IDDSI Festival of Latin America
Dear colleagues, healthcare professionals, and friends of swallowing,
We invite you to participate in the IV Latin American Congress on Dysphagia, to be held from May 20 to 23, 2026, in Cancún, Mexico, at the Anáhuac University Cancún. This meeting will bring together specialists, researchers, and therapists from across Latin America to share the most relevant scientific and clinical advances in the treatment of dysphagia.
This edition will also feature the 1st Latin American IDDSI Festival, a space dedicated to the practical application of international food safety standards, with workshops, demonstrations, and interactive activities. It will be a unique opportunity to stay up-to-date, present research, strengthen professional networks, and enjoy an exceptional academic and social environment.

Guidelines for Submitting Research Papers

Please submit your summary in your preferred language (Spanish, Portuguese, or English).

Specify whether it is basic or clinical research.

Specify which area of dysphagia your summary corresponds to:
Neurological dysphagia, dysphagia of head and neck cancer, dysphagia of intensive care unit, pediatric and/or neonatal dysphagia, esophageal dysphagia.

For each author, mention their affiliation, profession, city, and country.

The abstract will have a maximum of 300 words, including: introduction, objective, methods, results, discussion and conclusion.

Have an approved ethics committee in case your research requires it.

It is essential to obtain informed consent from all patients studied.

Evaluation and Awarding of Free Works
All submitted abstracts — both research papers and clinical cases — will be evaluated by an international committee of judges, who will determine whether the work will be accepted as an oral presentation or a poster presentation during the Congress in Cancun.
All accepted abstracts, as well as oral and poster presentations, will be part of the free works competition.
The oral presentations and posters displayed during the Cancun Congress will be evaluated again by an international committee of judges, who will award first, second, and third place in each category.
